Simple Things announce first wave of acts for 2017

The Bristol multi-venue festival returns for its seventh edition with its most exciting line-up to date

This October, Simple Things returns to Bristol with a characteristically adventurous line-up of boundary-pushing new talent, experimental outliers and established acts spread across a diverse network of venues, including the city’s historical Colston Hall.

Kickstarting the programme, former Crack cover stars Metronomy will take to the stage at Motion for an opening concert on 20 October.

The next day will see the festival in full swing with headliner Dan Snaith performing under his house-indebted Daphni moniker. Other headline slots are to be filled with live sets from Warp mainstay Clark, alongside Juan Atkins, Shackleton, Nadine Shah, Jlin and more.

Also confirmed are Bristol’s own IDLES, Frank Ocean collaborator (Sandy) Alex G, Kelly Lee Owens and New York pop-punk duo Diet Cig.

Dekmantel Soundsystem, Switzerland’s Sassy J, fast-rising Mancunian talent Willow and rising Russian DJ Inga Mauer will all be stepping up for DJ sets.

The closing act for the finale at Colston Hall is yet to be announced. Stay tuned.

Tickets will go on sale at 9AM on 26 May, via the Simple Things website.
