Of all the imprints currently operating in the loose-knit network of left-of-centre dub labels, few can touch Bokeh Versions in terms of consistency and creativity. With a catalogue that ranges from the steely abstractions of Jay Glass Dubs to crucial cassette releases from the likes of Duppy Gun and Low Jack, Bokeh releases mine the full spectrum of dub for an output that defies categorisation.

For his instalment of the Crack Mix series, label head Bokeh Edwards takes a characteristically outré approach, blending a strong industrial influence with tracks from African Head Charge and Bristol experimentalists Kinlaw, Young Echo and Bad Tracking. The end result is heavy going in places, but ultimately a weird and wonderful trip through the expanded sphere of one of the most exciting labels out there. Lock in and space out.
